How to use this guide
Please don’t be frustrated if you don’t find what you need in this guide.

Look out for the following text styles while you read, so you can better interpret their meanings:
MUSH code/commands are displayed like this:

If you see something listed with the above font and the characters < and > are used, do not write whats in between them. The < and > are indicators of a variable, something that could be different. What’s in between the < and > is a description of what you should type there.
Results from a command are displayed like this:
<Public> Guest says, “Hello, I am a newbie! Please help!”
MAIL: You sent your message to Lexx.

HSpace commands are divided up amongst their respected consoles. Some commands can be used on multiple consoles. (note: these commands may be different on some MUSHes)…
Simple stuff, huh? Sweet! Ok now lets get down to business…
Connecting to HSpace: Merchant Wars
How are you going to play the game if you can’t connect? Well first you need a MUSH client. I’m going to assume that the majority of readers of this guide are MUSH players. For those of you who aren’t, go to ask.com and do a search for the term ‘MUSH client’
Personally, I suggest that you use SimpleMU (http://simplemu.onlineroleplay.com/). It has outperformed every client I have ever used, and it has been relatively stable.
To connect to HSpace: Merchant Wars make a shortcut in your MUSH client and make sure the server is set to:
- merchantwars.com
You also want the port to be set to: 8362
Once the shortcut is made, go ahead and connect! This is what you should see, so that you know you have connected:

Those are simple instructions…if you wanted to create a character type something like this:
create Spanky passwords_suck
I’m not saying to make your character’s name Spanky, by the way, that was just an example.
After your character is created, you will see a message, a lot like the following:

in the help, you will be told to read help and news first to see if you can
figure out what you might be doing. If you then still need help, the
wizards will be more than happy to assist you.
You are required to type 'NEWS CONSTITUTION' and read it. Neglecting to
do so and obey by the constitution will eventually lead to you entering
the Hall of Shame. ;) Go out there and make some honest bucks ok :)
