Merchant Wars Canon focuses on a distant future scenario, around 8362 AG.
One is to assume that Earth was abandoned by Humans long ago. [citation needed]
Most of the Humans that remain in the universe have colonized Golimar.
Structure of the Universe
The Universe is roughly divided into six spacial regions or sectors also known as Supersectors.
These sectors are: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Omega, and Hyperspace the special supersector that connects all supersectors.
Each supersector encompasses a volume of space about the size of a galactic cluster (multiple galaxies). The distance between each supersector is so vast that physical travel between them is extreme. Typical propulsion is impractical. To travel between supersectors requires the use of Jump Gates, Wormholes, or other means.
Physical Laws
Everything that occurs in the Universe is subject to limitations or restraints based on the game. Therefore real-world measurements are applicable in the Merchant Wars Canon only so far as roleplay and minor combat code interactions.
Everyone in the Universe uses a system of measurement called Hephimeres (hm), for example, due to the fact that real-world systems of measurement do not translate well into the Merchant Wars Universe.
Forces in the Universe
- Nuclear (Atomic)
- Electroweak (magnetism, chemical reactions)
- Gravity (Sub-atomic, particle propulsion)
- Exotic (hyperspacial, quantum, etc.)
Planetary Systems
- Alpha Sector
- Gol System
- Xeth System
- Iota Xi System
- Beta Sector
- Xhaarik System
- Gamma Sector
- bl'Korth System
- Quiescence System
- Delta Sector
- Red System
- Ahsaskar System
Population of the Universe
There are many races of intelligent creatures in the universe. A lot of them are humanoid. The various offshoots of the Humans that have evolved into new types of beings look more like Humans than any of the humanoid variants. Other than Humans there are still several types of life. Applicable to the game the following is a brief list of types of beings inhabiting the Universe:
